I recieved this email just a few seconds ago from my Union representative... Thsi is non confidential information and was for information purposes only in most cases.. It ONLY affects thoes peopel working in TPS in teh job listing posted below.
It went as follows:
Local 207 members working in Telus Plaza South in the areas of Residential
Sales, Business Billing (East and West), Assignment, and PDS will be joining
their counterparts across Alberta and British Columbia on Monday morning for
a Study Session from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (MST). This is the script that
our phoners are using to inform our members about Monday's action. This
information is not confidential; the phone calls to our members commenced an
hour ago.
You are being contacted on behalf of the TWU to let you know that these departments are
being called off the job on Monday, July 18th, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00
a.m. MST for a mandatory study session.
If you start work on Monday prior to 9:00 a.m., go to work as usual and at
9:00 a.m., log out, lock down and leave your work station. Please take any
personal belongings with you and meet us in the food court in the concourse
of Telus Plaza South. If your shift starts after 9:00 but before 11:00
please proceed immediately to the food court. In the event that we are
removed from the food court, we will be on the lawn in front of the
building.
This study session has been approved by the TWU Executive Council. Under
Section 94 of the Canada Labour Code, you can not be disciplined for
participating in this action.
This study session will include members of your classification across
Alberta and British Columbia. It is an attempt to bring the company to the
bargaining table. While we believe the Telus lockout is illegal, our members
cannot continue to be treated by the company this way.
